PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) is a very sturdy and resistant material despite being derived from Corn. The corn from which the polymer is extracted is not edible, like that for shopping bags.

PLA is a highly transparent material which nevertheless retains a slight yellow chroma due to its natural origin. The material is compostable and disposes of in the wet as if it were food.

PLA is a material derived from Corn and therefore bio-compostable and eco-sustainable. Production of PLA granule is even less expensive than petroleum-derived plastics.
